A04

Spatial and temporal targeting of membrane-bound mPGES-1 and FLAP / 5-LO by dual inhibitors employing polymer-based nanocarriers
test tubes containing pink fuid

Project A04 aims at establishing novel and more effective drugs for resolving inflammation, specifically of dual inhibitors of microsomal prostaglandin E2 synthase-1 (mPGES-1) and 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein (FLAP) or 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO). Improved bioavailability and target-specific delivery of the drug will be realized employing functionalized polymer-based particles as nanocarriers. Drug delivery at site will be investigated utilizing advanced fluorescence microscopy both in monocyte-derived macrophages and more complex biosystems.
