Project B03 will focus on the synthesis of high performing carriers like guanidinium containing terpolymers where systematic control of the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance will be utilized to create safe and efficient carriers for nucleic acids. The terpolymers will be formulated with nucleic acids where the resulting polyplexes will be applied as anti-inflammatory treatment based on NF-kB knockdown which will be tested in cell culture systems like endothelial cells or epithelial intestinal models and M1/M2 macrophages.
